PLANS - Keeping an eye on Lancelot both in Caer Glaem/the White Citadel and on his travels. - His mission for Lancelot to connect with all of the agents stationed in the cities closest to Caer Glaem. - Becoming Spymaster under the direction of the Seelie Marshall should said mission be fulfilled. - Watching over Bridei when Lancelot is not around and making sure that he is safe. - Possibly spreading more positive sentiments towards the Seelie court (or at least positive sentiments towards Lancelot) in the form of ballads. - Upholding his oaths to the best of his ability. SUMMARY OF KNOWN DETAILS TBA TIMELINE OF EVENTS SPRING IN 2,701 (Mar, Apr, May) MARCH - Gwen is happy to see Faolan alive again. Faolan spends most of the month hiding from the cold under Lancelot's charmed blankets with Bridei, and feeling guilty he won't let him light a fire. APRIL - Faolan starts to hear harp-playing everywhere, both in and out of his dreams, and his emotions go off of the charts. He resents harps, and he resents what they mean to him. He would never destroy an instrument in or out of his dreams however so he will be affected the whole month. There are significant interactions with Lancelot and Guinevere during this event. MAY - Faolan accompanies Lancelot on the first of his many Public Relations trips, this time to Parrais. SUMMER IN 2,701 (Jun, Jul, Aug) JUNE - As of the month before, the lockets and the fairy rings do not work, and as such, communication with agents stationed out in cities has become a challenge. Lancelot assigns Faolan the task of traveling to them and communicating in person, since it is easier for him to travel around than most others these days, being shardless. He starts out with Treun, where he participates in the Melee competition of the Tourney and is bested by Connor early in the running. Lancelot is there to soothe his bruised ego. Also at the Tourney he speaks to Aragorn, Lucrezia, and Natasha. He also meets with the agent in Treun before continuing on his mission south to Leathann, where there is no agent stationed, but he spends a while investigating in their stead. JULY - From Leathann Faolan does a massive traveling loop back up to Parrais on his mission for Lancelot to meet with the agent stationed there. And from there he goes on to Doanna for the final stop in his journey, where he discovers that there is some unrest after the hangings that take place there. He speaks to Diarmuid and they exchange information, before he returns to Caer Glaem to share his findings with Lancelot. (All throughout the mission he has been checking in here and there, to let him know that he's alive, and because Bridei misses him.) AUGUST -Faolan accompanies Lancelot to Leathann for more Public Relations on behalf of the Seelie court, and tries desperately not to be in the way during the Festival of Lights. While he's there, he takes some time to investigate this new Oracle (and possibly work on establishing a new agent in the city?). FALL IN 2,701 (Sept, Oct, Nov) SEPTEMBER - Faolan returns with Lancelot to Parrais for more Public Relations touring. OCTOBER - On the 25th of October, the Drabwurld celebrates Samhain once more. Faolan attends, and reminisces about last year with Lancelot. He spends less time brooding than he did last year, and even accepts a few dances, including one with Gwen. NOVEMBER - Faolan spends much of the month on regular duties. When word of the escaped convicts from the prison colony in Leathann reaches Caer Glaem, it makes him uneasy - are any of these people a threat to Caer Glaem itself? WINTER IN 2,701/2,702 (Dec, Jan, Feb) DECEMBER - Having won the Hunt last year, Lancelot will apparently get it into his mind that he doesn't need to take it seriously this year, thereby ending up getting himself cursed into becoming an animal this go around. An otter, to be exact. Faolan must then watch over him, Lady, and Bridei the three of them for the next few days until Lancelot is himself once more. Any gifts he receives for Yule he struggles to return in kind, even if his own gifts by comparison are likely not as fancy or expensive as those that are given to him. JANUARY - Faolan accompanies Lancelot back to Treun once more for more Public Relations touring on behalf of the Seelie court. He checks in with the agent stationed there, and puts out feelers as to what might be going on with the Fortuna family, after the Governor was forced to abdicate his position. (The 26th marks Faolan's return from death, an event that is possibly worth celebrating?) FEBRUARY - Faolan travels with Lancelot back to Leathann again for another Public Relations visit on behalf of the Seelie court. (If he has established an agent in Leathann at this point he will check in with them.) Also during this month, on the 14th, Bridei turns one year old. SPRING IN 2,702 (Mar, Apr) MARCH - Faolan joins Lancelot and all others defending Caer Glaem by decapitating the skeletons of the risen dead, and is largely unsettled by their appearance. APRIL - Fairies start to go missing from Caer Glaem, leaving everyday tasks unfinished. Faolan knows how to make do without them, although it is an inconvenience in certain aspects. This too is concerning, however, and he wonders what it could mean going forward...

Faolan loses Lancelot - when he finds him he has been drinking and is somewhat melancholy. Faolan sits with him and listens to his thoughts and worries, sharing a drink with him as he does.

Diarmuid finds Faolan and the pair of them speak on Faolan's costume - for he has dressed tonight as Lancelot, after all.

Hermione also locates Faolan and the pair of them speak on the change in their friendship over the past year.

Faolan reassures Gwen that it is okay to enjoy herself at the party and take a break from her work; dress in fancy dresses even though she herself is not fancy (yet).

Deserved it. It's possible they did, it's possible the act was a sort of vigilante movement -- such a thing would fit with how Reynard was often see, after all. Yet still. No matter how well-meaning the act it undermines law, and escalation will always be a problem.

Faolan moves on, however, and he in turn puts the thought away. Martin Maskmaker? Lancelot considers the name, frowns a little and shakes his head.

"No, not that I recall. Should I have?"

The name, certainly, is one Lancelot can draw a correlation with. The Cult of the Fox wears masks, after all.

Faolan nods. It's a game, a game of what information to give, what to seek. A game he has always been good at, but a game he's willing to bet that Lucrezia herself is also talented with too.

"Fortuna is in trouble," he observes aloud. "I know that there are those who do not approve of his position nor his allegiances. But there are those who do. Should he choose to formalize his ties to the court, there could be... Other measures, set into place." He does not say more, nor does he mention the fact that Lancelot is to meet with Fortuna himself on this particular matter specifically. He knows that there is a reluctance there. To side with either court is to bring about more trouble, that much he knows.

"Any information you are willing to share, my lady," he implores of her, "I ask that you do. It is important. I understand that this is your family we speak of, now. I would not ask you to spy against them yourself. But understand why it is that I ask these things of you..."

"He is that, yes," Faolan confirms. Trying not to let on how eager he is to return home to him. "A very busy man, of late, but a good one nonetheless. I fear what may have become of him, without his shadow there to remind him to take it easy on himself, every now and again. It's just as well I have only been gone the two months..."

He turns to glance down the road with her. To Treun, she says, and knowing what he does of Pod and what he does of the city, he has to wonder- "What business do you have in Treun, then, if you'll forgive me asking as much?" Curious minds and all.

[Faolan had rather assumed that Draco would like the sound of that. Giving a gift is certainly a lot better than presenting it to his caregivers (and perhaps Draco can help Faolan do with it whatever he should, whether keep it in the bag or, what, arrange it in some sort of miniature pile for the little dragon to start wallowing in?).]

Not at all. Come on then. [He glances around, before turning on his heel and indicating that the other should follow him up the Keep, towards his and Lancelot's joined rooms, where Bridei is waiting.] How long has it been since you've last seen him, then?

[There's a point to this question - Faolan's never seen the pair of them together, after all, but moreso than that, he needs to know if Draco knows about Bridei's own shapeshifting abilities, for that matter.]

Faolan shakes his head, sighing softly. "I don't know," he admits. "I hadn't, before then. You should know of it now, though." Faolan brings his hands up out of the water, running them over his hair, through his face. He's going to have to actually wash at some point, before the water grows too cool, but he's too enthralled in speaking for the moment. "Martin Maskmaker was apparently the first shardbearer brought to this world. An ancient hero. His name has been brought up in conjunction with the Cult, and with the masks... You can see why. Not all believe that he's truly serving them, it could just be a convenient ploy, using the masks to encourage the rumor to gain support. There is some basis of truth in it, however. Those masks..."

It is Faolan's turn to frown now. "There is magic on them. Old Magic, I was told. Spelled to undo memory. None may look upon them and remember anything save the smallest details of their wearers. It's possible they may have other powers as well, although what those could be it is not exactly known." He leaves out the part where Molly had conjectured they might have been made out of shardbearers. He does not know that he can speak of such things, not with the child asleep in Lancelot's arms, and the night already as long as it is.

"If he chooses to form an alliance, that would be his decision and I would back him both as his family and a Seelie shardbearer," she responded back, still scrutinizing Faolan. This did not seem like help. This seemed like he wanted her to tell her everything she knew. Undoubtedly he was reporting back to Lancelot, someone high ranking in Seelie.

"I do not know what you wish me to say? He is a good man to me." And then a pause as her head tilted. "Are there doubts? Are there doubts of me?"

Spelled to undo memory. Lancelot lets out a slow breath, turning over the concept. Fits in the piece of the puzzle. It would explain a lot of things, in truth, that they have such power.

"I suppose that is why they are so hard to track or find information on. Everyone who tries simply... forgets. Still -- there must be a way around such a thing. If it is the masks that have the power, they need to be divested of it. Or else... watched from a distance, in a reflective surface perhaps -- that might stop the power taking hold."

Some time. I have not been in Glaschu since the spring.

[ Since he nearly killed a bunch of guards and took off into self-imposed hiding. It's taken months to convince himself to reconnect with the rest of the Seelie and Bridei just happened to be the best starting place. But! That isn't something for light conversation, so he won't mention it, content to just follow along after Faolan to the rooms.

At the very least, with his own shapeshifting having been inspired by the magic of the native dragons, that wont be too much of a shock. Well, mostly. That they can do such a thing so young... ]

Has he been well? Have you? And Lancelot?

[Faolan nods in response to the questions.] Bridei's been well. Growing all the time, as children tend to do. And Lancelot, he is... He is busy, overworked. But he's well also. [Well enough, although Faolan does worry at times, it's true. That's not something to unload on a man - dragon - that he barely knows however. So he keeps it to himself.

As they reach the door, Faolan nods to the pair of guards before reaching for the handle on the large ebony doors and pushing it open. Across the room, there sits a little boy and a dog, not far from where Faolan had left them. Inside Lady's dog bed, but let's not get into that - Bridei likes to explore, and as long as he's not scaling the curtains or putting rocks in his mouth, Faolan lets him, for the most part. Upon seeing Faolan, a smile spreads across his face and little hands reach up, indicating that if Faolan doesn't come and pick him up, and soon, then there will be consequences. So Faolan does, scooping the little boy up in his arms and turning towards the man standing in the entry, as the guards close the door behind them.]

Bridei, this is Draco. Draco, Bridei. I am told you have met before. [He glances at Draco himself, taking in his expression and wondering how much of a surprise this will be for both of them. They have schooled Bridei to be generally wary around strangers, after all.]

Faolan sighs, softly, shaking his head. He doesn't mean to question her, does not mean to have her questioning him. He is only seeking information, that's all. "I wish for you to tell me whatever you wish to share. There are no doubts of you, my lady, no. I merely want to know..." He takes in a deep breath, trying to tread carefully here. "Has there been trouble for you? Who has been causing it, if you know as much? If you would at least answer me this, then I will trouble you no longer myself..."

"No more than what is to be expected," she answered, softening slightly. Her shoulders sank as she watched him for a moment. Perhaps it was rash of her to become so defensive, but it was hard not to be suspicious. But she took a moment to compose herself.

"It is not the safest for shardbearers, but I have plenty of guards." Not unlike how things often were when she was home. She was nearly always accompanied when she went out, being someone close to the most important man in the world.
