QUEST BOARD

Faolan is ranked at five stars. A former member of the Unseelie court, Faolan is now shardless, and has sworn his allegiances to Lancelot and therefore the Seelie court itself. He has been named the Seelie Marshall's Hound and more recently, Sunlight's Shadow, as well as Spymaster of Caer Glaem. Because of his position not only as Lancelot's bodyguard and right hand man but also as Spymaster, Faolan's quests revolve around a similar theme of spying for the Seelie court and serving Lancelot (and Faolan's needs as they pertain to him, for that matter). PLEASE NOTE: as a shardless character, Faolan can assign quests to characters in either court with no court consequences on either side.

THE CROSSROADS★
Faolan has heard tale of Navin, the God of the Crossroads. Navin's temples are generally situated at crossroads, his main worshipers being travelers themselves, and feature small objects of worship at minor shrines. Priests travel between them for maintenance and to ensure that goods to help travelers are left behind. At major crossroads, they have waystation temples to help travelers and priests take a place to rest. Because of his trickster nature, the fact that religions have become more and more prevalent across the drabwurld as of late, and the fact that he is so widely worshiped Faolan would like to know more about him.
REQUIREMENTS: 1.5K words of your character traveling to one of Navin's temples, either at a minor or major crossroads, and assisting in offering service to Navin on behalf of Faolan and the Seelie court so that they might gain more insight on the god himself. Success is determined on the returning of the information found to Faolan himself. More information will be available upon acceptance of this quest.

THE SEELIE MARSHALL'S HOUND ★
It should surprise no one at this point that one of Faolan's number one priorities is Lancelot at this point. Being the Seelie Marshall's Hound and practically the man's shadow, he is rarely seen without him. Which means that he is acutely attuned to the other man's moods. The past year, the last few months especially, they have worn on him greatly. And Faolan is having none of it. People taking this quest will be tasked with the challenge of finding some way of cheering the man up a little, brightening his day and helping Faolan put a smile back on his face, if they can.
REQUIREMENTS: 1.5K words of planning the act, getting the pieces in motion, and/or doing the cheering itself. Faolan will be on-hand to participate if necessary. So long as 1) Lancelot is not told that Faolan is the one who put them up to the task, and 2) Lancelot does not find out that cheering him up is the goal. A success is a given fairly simple and would constitute anything from a smile to a laugh to getting the other man to actually accept a little time off for any sort of leisure activity (good luck with that one).

THE SPYMASTER ★★
As Spymaster of Caer Glaem, Faolan has in his pocket a certain number of people in a certain number of cities who gather information for him there. But they can only do so much investigating themselves, given the fact that they are established citizens of those areas. Which is where further spying comes in. Those who accept this quest must travel to different areas of Glaschu and either connect with one of Faolan's spies to investigate a matter further for them, or do some investigating of the city themselves.
REQUIREMENTS: 3K words of your character traveling to a city within Glaschu and either connecting with one of Faolan's spies and doing some investigating for them, or doing some investigating on their own. Faolan is particularly interested in information on notable events, temperament within the area, key figures, and/or any problems that might need addressing. Your character must not reveal themselves or their quest to anyone, and must bring their information back to Faolan in order for the quest to be a success. More information on this quest will be available once it is accepted.

THE NORTH ★★
Having been contacted by Elizabeth of York, Faolan has been requested to use his position and resources to see if he might be able to help the land of Briste, which has been severely neglected in favor of the rescue of Leathann of late. The people there apparently have been thus far hesitant to let themselves be escorted to safety.
REQUIREMENTS: 3K words of your character traveling to Briste and helping the natives there in some capacity. Elizabeth of York has requested that Faolan use his resources to try and escort as many natives out as possible, although it is understandable that there are those who will not want to come. If some can be convinced, especially those important to the continued survival of the people in times to come, then this quest will be considered a success. Other important objectives include determining what other items of value might be lost if Briste is taken by the Void, and if not ensuring they are rescued from the city, at least bringing back a detailed list so that it can be determined whether such a thing is appropriate or not. Success is determined once a report is given back to Faolan detailing the outcomes of their efforts.

CUSTOM QUESTS ★-★★★
Given Faolan's position and his status as Spymaster, he has within his grasp the ability to create whatever quests he would like. If you do not see anything given already that interests you but you would like to take a quest from Faolan on any topic he might be interested in (spy things, the Godswar, understanding the Drabwurld and its workings better), fill out this form and submit it in a PM to me and we can create a quest for you together (that I will then pin up on this questboard here for you):

REQUIREMENTS: Varying, to be determined on an individualized basis, depending on what level of quest you have received. In general, a ★ requires 1.5K words, a ★★ requires 3K words, and ★★★ requires 4.5K, although further quest requirements are detailed on the quest FAQ.

CUSTOM: YOU BELONG WITH ME ★★
Faolan has learned of Kirei's obsession devotion to the Void itself. Through conversation with Kirei, communications with his agents across the Drabwurld, and the results of former quests he has given out, he has grown to understand that the Void is more than just a force of destruction. There are even those who worship it, as though it were a god. But Faolan wishes to understand. Wishes to understand the history of the Void and interaction with it throughout the existence of Shardbearers. Has it always been there, as the sun in the sky? Was there a person to first discover its approach? Has it always been approaching, or was there a time it stopped or retreated and if so how and why? Has any research been done on it? Non-religious studying of what it is and what it does? And what do the religious say of it? All questions that need answering.
REQUIREMENTS: 3K words of research on the Void. Perhaps this could be done through text-based research -- Faolan would direct towards the University Library as the single most well-stocked, unbiased library he knows to exist in the Drabwurld itself. Perhaps this could be done through a more direct route -- the Void worshipers themselves. They are nothing if not a secretive sort. But Kirei has a passion for the subject, and where there is a will there is a way. Not all questions need answered, nor does the question answered need to be one of the ones supplied. A successful quest would be returning to Faolan with a newly discovered fact on the Void.
